If you build it, pickleballers will come.

Construction has begun on a new 40,000-square-foot pickleball facility at The Villages, a mammoth retirement community that was the fastest-growing metropolitan area in the nation two years ago.

The planned high-amenity indoor facility will feature a 3,667-square-foot lounge, a pro shop, and a cafe. Inside, there will be 16 courts, two covered outdoor courts, and two bocce ball courts.

Set to open in the fall

Concrete has been poured along the north and south interiors, and utilities have been installed. The Pickleball Club is membership-based and will be located at NE 62nd Terrace near Saddlebrook Executive Golf Course.

This is The Pickleball Club's second location. Their first is located in Sarasota near Lakewood Ranch. The company's goal is to open 15 clubs over the next five years. A club in Orlando is also under development.
