DUPR Launches ‘DUPR Reset,’ a Risk-Free Way to Reassess Your Current Rating
“Players want their rating to represent who they are today," said Tito Machado, DUPR’s CEO. "Reset gives them a transparent pathway to prove it through meaningful competition.”
DUPR is giving players a fresh shot at their rating — without the downside.
The global pickleball rating platform today announced the launch of DUPR Reset, a new feature that allows players to reassess their rating during a defined competitive window, with zero risk of their number going down.
As the sport grows and player development accelerates, many competitors feel their rating doesn’t always reflect their current level of play.
DUPR Reset is designed to address that.
“At its core, DUPR Reset reflects our commitment to competitive integrity and player confidence,” said Tito Machado, DUPR’s CEO.
“Players want their rating to represent who they are today. Reset gives them a transparent pathway to prove it through meaningful competition.”
How DUPR Reset Works
The first Reset Period runs March 16 through May 17, 2026, and is open to players worldwide.
- Players must opt in through the DUPR app
- A separate Reset rating will be calculated using only matches played during the Reset window
- At the end of the period, a player’s official DUPR will reflect whichever rating is higher — their original rating or their Reset rating
In short: no risk of going down.

Participation Requirements
To qualify for a Reset rating:
- Players must complete at least 8 matches
- Doubles players must compete with 2 different partners
- Singles players must compete against 2 different opponents
- There is no maximum match limit
- Only DUPR-reported matches count (self-reported results are excluded)
Any player who already has a DUPR rating prior to registration is eligible.

Why It Matters
DUPR says the initiative is meant to drive more structured competition while maintaining rating integrity across clubs, leagues, and tournaments.
By creating a time-bound window:
- Players are incentivized to compete more frequently
- Clubs and organizers gain a participation boost
- Ratings stay data-driven and performance-based
The feature also removes a psychological barrier that often keeps players from entering events: fear of a ratings drop. With Reset, the worst-case scenario is staying where you are.

DUPR, which operates on a 2.000–8.000 scale and serves as the official rating system for major organizations including USA Pickleball, Professional Pickleball Association, and Major League Pickleball, continues to position itself as the premier global pickleball rating system and technology platform.
For players who believe they’ve leveled up — but don’t feel their rating shows it — DUPR Reset offers a defined, competitive path to prove it.
