Austin Pickle Ranch Ready to Launch Its Second Location

by Jason Flamm on

The state capital of Texas continues to prove it's all-in on pickleball. In May, Pickle Ranch will open its second location, an indoor facility on Braker Lane.

The first Pickle Ranch, which features eight outdoor pickleball courts, sits famously atop a parking garage on West 6th Street. It opened late last year and served as the home base for Major League Pickleball's Texas Ranchers.

This second location will feature state-of-the-art amenities, including 16 indoor pickleball courts and multiple indoor and outdoor lounge areas.

The second Pickle Ranch will further cement Austin as one of the best pickleball cities in the US.

Blessed by the Johns brothers

The new location will also feature the first court certified by Johns Design & Consulting – a design firm developed by top pro pickleball partners and brothers, Ben and Collin Johns.

"We are excited to work with the Austin Pickle Ranch as one of our first JDC-certified courts," Collin said.

"Since moving to Austin, we have had a close working relationship with Klitch and the Austin Pickle Ranch team. He has watched as we built our careers in pickleball from the ground up, and it is now time for us to help him build his own.

"We have no doubt that the addition of a high-quality indoor venue with 16 courts will ensure Austin remains one of the premier pickleball cities in America."

The Klitch referenced is Tim Klitch, founder and chief fun officer of Austin Pickle Ranch and a part owner of the Texas Ranchers.

"We are excited to introduce a brand-new, top-tier indoor pickleball facility to the dynamic North Austin community," Klitch said.

"We understand there is a shortage of high-quality, easily accessible pickleball courts in the city, and our new facility will offer plenty of room for players of all levels, ensuring year-round enjoyment, especially when the Texas sun cranks up the heat."

If you ever need to find Tim, just look for his signature cowboy hat along the sidelines of Ranchers games.

A premier indoor facility will be a popular pickleball spot in the Texas summer heat.
