Amazon Pickleball Paddle Sales Up 55% in 2025, Surge to $44 Million

by Alex E. Weaver on

For players at all levels, Amazon is evolving into a legitimate destination for quality pickleball gear, not just budget paddles

There's a serious new contender in the ongoing competition for your hard-earned pickleball dollars.

In 2025, pickleball paddle sales on Amazon surged, with roughly 687,000 paddles sold accounting for $43.5 million in revenue, according to an article from Matt Hofman for Speak Pickleball.

During the year, more than 22 million people viewed pickleball paddle products on Amazon, highlighting the growing demand for gear on the platform.

Growth in Both Volume and Spend

Compared with 2024, Amazon’s paddle business showed healthy growth:

  • Paddle unit sales increased about 38%
  • Total money spent jumped 55% year-over-year

The faster rise in revenue versus units sold suggests that buyers in 2025 were choosing higher-priced paddles more often rather than focusing solely on the cheapest options.

"Whether you're just starting out or you're a tournament player, Amazon has become a one-stop shop for everything pickleball," said Hofman.

"The selection keeps getting better as more brands take the platform seriously."

Shift From Cheap Sets to Premium Gear

Historically, many players have turned to Amazon primarily for budget paddle sets priced $50 or below.

In 2025, however, that trend appears to have shifted; serious players increasingly bought brand-name, premium paddles on the marketplace.

The JOOLA Perseus 3S (priced $197.95) was the top-selling paddle by revenue, Hofman reports, a telling sign that competitive-level gear is now selling well on Amazon, not just entry-level equipment.

JOOLA vs. Selkirk: Two Paths to Success

Two major brands stood out on Amazon, but in very different ways:

  • Selkirk sold about 87,000 paddles and generated roughly $8.5 million, combining beginner sets and higher-end paddles across its range
  • JOOLA moved around 45,000 paddles but still made about $8.3 million, indicating higher average prices per paddle sold

This contrast suggests that Selkirk’s broader range appeals to a wider player base, while JOOLA's premium-oriented lineup drives strong revenue even with fewer units sold.

Other Top-Performing Paddles

Beyond the top two brands, several other models showed notable sales in 2025:

  • JOOLA Perseus Pro 4
  • Vatic Pro Prism Flash, generated about $1.3 million, an impressive figure for a relatively newer brand
  • Various paddles from CRBN and Selkirk also featured among the top sellers

Interestingly, the best-selling CRBN paddle was not one of their foam core models, showing that player preferences vary across technologies.

"Most other top-selling brands were Chinese companies, and many sold less than the year before," says Hofman. "American brands are taking over more of the market."

What Players Are Searching For

Search behavior on Amazon offers further insight into interest trends:

  • The broad search term “pickleball paddles” received about 6.3 million clicks, with Selkirk products appearing most often in those listings.
  • Brand-specific searches like “Joola pickleball paddle” topped 600,000 and were up roughly 14 % from 2024.
  • Other brands, such as Friday pickleball, also showed strong search interest with 162,000 searches.

The Bigger Picture

While paddle sales alone neared $44 million, Amazon’s overall pickleball category — including balls, bags, shoes, and other gear — exceeded $170 million in total sales in 2025.

For players at all levels, Amazon is evolving into a legitimate destination for quality pickleball gear, not just budget paddles. Easy shipping and extensive customer reviews are likely contributing factors to players’ increasing comfort buying higher-end equipment on the platform.
