Carson Ngo slaps an ATP for the ages at The Dink Minor League Pickleball National Championship
We know calling any shot the "highlight of the year" is a bit hyperbolic. But bear with us, because context is everything.
The Dink Minor League Pickleball Championship is underway in Dallas, Texas, a collection of hundreds of the world's top amateurs across 35 states and eight countries all competing for a podium spot – and their slice of the $100,000 grand prize.
We've had teams dressed up as the Founding Fathers and Dolly Parton. One guy is breaking opponents' ankles while wearing jeans. And there are players of all ages hitting highlight shots you only dream of.
But nothing so far has quite matched the shot 11-year-old Carsen Ngo pulled out of his hat, below.

Just everything about this point has us thinking it's got "shot of the year" candidate written all over it.
- First, the stakes: this event has been circled on the calendar all year; you know what they say: big players show up and make big plays
- Carsen and his partner have their backs against the wall for most of the point
- Carsen covers nearly the entire court to get to this ATP attempt
- He sticks the landing beautifully – the ball was in by a mile, his opponent never stood a chance
- The reaction is what makes it, full confidence, never a doubt in his mind
- And yeah, this kid is only 11 years old

Carsen's team went on to win the DUPR11 Men’s Division.
"What. A. Day," Carsen posted to Instagram.
My team, the Premier Ballerz, fought through some of the toughest matches I’ve ever played. We barely made it out of pool play, but once bracket started, we locked in.
