The Minto US Open Championships Powered by Margaritaville are underway in Naples, Florida.
Amateur play began on Saturday, April 26th and all play will conclude on Saturday, May 3rd.
What began in 2016 as a passion project for the founders, Chris Evon and Terri Graham, has turned into a one of a kind pickleball experience. In 2024, 50,000 spectators attended the event, and at least a 10% increase is expected this year, breaking last year's record.
In addition to spectators, this is the largest tournament in history, with over 3,500 players (combining both amateurs and pros). They will be playing sun up until sun down, for seven straight days.
The tournament takes place at the East Naples Community Park and is now run by Pickle4. Pickle4 bought the US Open from Evon and Graham after last year’s US Open Championships.
There is more than just pride on the line at the US Open, as there is over $160,000 in prize money available to the pros and senior pros.
The ninth edition (no US Open in 2020, due to COVID) of the US Open features an expanded Championship Court, with 2,000 seats. In fact, the seats are in such high demand that the US Open has held a “Zing Zang Championship Court Lottery” and some tickets are on the secondary market, which has never been seen before.
The event is free to spectators, and the aforementioned tickets are only needed on the Zing Zang Championship Court.
Weather Outlook
The weather outlook starting on Wednesday is amazing! South Florida in late April/early May is great weather for pickleball.

Pro Event Breakdown
Women’s Singles
Top Seeds (in no particular order):
- Megan Fudge
- Sofia Sewing
- Shelby Bates
- Amanda Hendry
- Pei Chuan Kao
- Bobbi Oshiro
- Alexa Schull
- Maria Klokotzky
Favorites: Fudge, Sewing, and Kao are the favorites heading into the event, with all three already having a gold medal on the APP Tour in 2025. Fudge earned silver last year at this event and bronze the year before.
Men’s Singles
Top Seeds (in no particular order):
- Chris Haworth
- Jack Foster
- Grayson Goldin
- Jhonnatan Medina Alvarez
Favorites: Haworth has to be considered the heavy favorite in singles, with how well he is playing over the last year or two. Haworth and Foster faced off in last year’s final and Foster came out victorious.
Mixed Doubles
Top Seeds (in no particular order):
- Andre Agassi and Anna Leigh Waters
- Megan Fudge and Jack Munro
- Daria Walczak and Patrick Kawka
- Bobbi Oshiro and Andre Mick

Yes, you saw that right - Anna Leigh Waters is playing mixed doubles with Andre Agassi at the US Open. They will face off against Oshiro and Mick in the semis, if they both make it that far.
Favorites: Honestly, any of the four top seeded partners could realistically win this, but I think Anna Leigh and Andre are favored.
Women’s Doubles
Top Seeds (in no particular order):
- Anna Leigh Waters and Leigh Waters
- Megan Fudge and Jill Braverman
- Simone Jardim and Amanda Hendry
- Daria Walczak and Allison Harris
- Bobbi Oshiro and Susannah Barr
Favorites: I think this one comes down to Anna Leigh and Leigh vs Megan and Jill. I am giving the edge to the Waters’, who won it last year and earned bronze in this event in 2021.
Men’s Doubles
Top Seeds (in no particular order):
- Jack Munro and Len Yang
- Armaan Bhatia and Harsh Mehta
- Kyle Yates and William Sobek
- Kyle Koszuta and Patrick Kawka
- Richard Livornese and Ryler DeHeart
Favorites: This is one of the most interesting draws of the pro event. I’ve never seen Len Yang play - he has a 5.9 DUPR and is from China. He has played in the USA before. Armaan Bhatia and Harsh Mehta are the two best pickleball players out of India, and have a real shot. Kyle Yates is literally in the pickleball Hall of Fame, and Yates and Sobek won bronze last year at the event. This one is a toss up among the top five pairings.
