According to Sports Media Watch, the PPA Tour Mesa Arizona Cup pulled in a
.29 rating on FOX on Sunday, February 25th.
It was the 18th most-watched sporting event on Sunday. The top five included the NASCAR Cup Series (2.5 rating), two NBA games (Lakers at Suns with a 1.6 rating and Denver vs Golden State with a 1.2 rating), NASCAR Raceday (1.1), and the Mexico Open from the PGA Tour (1.1 at 3 PM on NBC).
The PPA Tour event brought in just over 500,000 viewers, with its biggest demographic coming from ages 25-54.
It was great to see professional pickleball shown during a premium spot on a major TV network. Certainly, this is a huge win for the PPA and pro pickleball fans everywhere and will hopefully lead to more events broadcast on traditional network platforms.
