The LUXE LX Paddle: How Cutting-Edge Aerodynamics Enhances Play

by Alina Leontarakis on

In the world of pickleball, LUXE has carved a niche for itself by offering paddles that are not just functional, but aesthetically pleasing. You know those paddles that catch your eye before they even hit a ball.

Now, they’ve added the LX paddle to their Luxury collection, and it's like the cherry on top.

LUXE’s got a few collections up its sleeve: the Leisure Collection for those just getting started in pickleball, the Ace Collection for the intermediate players needing some more texture and power, and the Luxury Collection, which is where the LX paddle lives, is for competitive players want to take their game to the next level.

LX Specs

  • Weight: 7.8 OZ
  • Thickness: 16mm
  • Grip Length: 5.5 inches
  • Core: Honeycomb Polypropylene
  • Face: Raw Carbon Fiber
  • Price: $149.99

The LX paddle really shines with its foam-filled edges, making that sweet spot bigger and better for your game. The top layer is all textured carbon fiber, which ups your control game, letting you place those shots just right.

The design's got this open throat thing going on, with extra holes that cut down on wind resistance, so your paddle moves faster and feels more responsive.

The long handle helps you reach those tricky shots, and along with the paddle's solid build, you know this thing's going to last.

My on court thoughts

Alright, so when I first grabbed the LUXE LX Paddle, I was struck by its simple, sleek look. No crazy designs, just classy and clean. Some people aren't into white paddles (hard to see the ball and all), but for me? No issues there.

I weighed the paddle myself, and it came in around 7.8 ounces. What I particularly appreciated was the even weight distribution; the balance felt just right. It didn't feel too top or bottom heavy which is a nice surprise.

The sweet spot of this paddle is notably large, which was a pleasant surprise, especially considering the additional holes on the sides – a feature I hadn't seen before.

They totally threw me off at first. But after a few games, I got why LUXE went with them. They really do make a difference in those fast hand battle exchanges at the kitchen line.

As I've said before in my other reviews, I am a big fan of the extended grip handle. It felt very comfortable in my hands throughout my games. Not a super thick grip. The base grip was a bit slick for my liking, but an overgrip sorted that right out.

The textured carbon fiber surface added so much finesse to my shots, especially when I was loading up on topspin. I felt like I had more control when placing my shots where I wanted in the court, which is very important to me.

I don't have a problem with generating power, so if you need help in that department, you might want to jazz it up with some lead tape.

And hey, if you’re all about keeping that paddle looking fresh, get some edge guard tape. Trust me, you’ll want to protect this beauty.

Who is this paddle for?

Think of the LX Paddle as that go-to gear that's perfect for the intermediate to advanced players out there.

If you're at a 3.5 level and aiming to level up to 4.0, the LX Paddle is your ticket to that next step. And hey, if you're already rocking the game at 4.0 or higher, you're gonna be stoked about how snappy and responsive this paddle is.

Singles players? You're in for a treat too. This paddle's got the chops for fast-paced play.

LUXE has totally flipped the script, proving that stunning paddles can pack a serious punch in gameplay.

The LUXE LX Paddle is way more than just a pretty piece to show off on the court.

This isn't your average beginner paddle; it's a top-tier beast that serious players will love. Control the game, control the ball, with the LX Paddle. Feel free to use code TheDink for 15% off at checkout!
