CityPickle Debuts Flagship Location in NYC's Times Square

by Alex E. Weaver on

New York City's Time Square recently got the royal pickleball treatment, as a billboard of Anna Leigh Waters went up a few weeks back proclaiming her, "The most dominant athlete in the world." (No objections here.)

Today, the same premier real estate gets a more permanent pickleball fixture, as CityPickle announces an expansion to Times Square with its new headquarters and first year-round location in Manhattan.

The flagship location at 1501 Broadway will span over 37,000 square feet on the building’s 8th floor with 18 foot ceilings hovering over seven professional courts.

CityPickle is bringing its signature pickleball experience to one of New York City’s most iconic locations.

A full bar and restaurant, lounge and event space, showers, and other amenities will round out the space, which will also serve as CityPickle’s new headquarters and corporate office.

"There’s no better place to plant our flag than Times Square, the epicenter of culture and entertainment," said Mary Cannon, Co-Founder of CityPickle.

"Being near so many subway lines allows us to welcome players from all over the city while also catering to professionals working nearby, giving them a fun and active way to connect before or after work – or even on their lunch break."

The location will open in fall 2025. The building, also known as the Paramount Building, is steeped in history. According to its website:

Paramount Pictures, one of the major American motion picture companies in the 1920s, built its headquarters at 1501 Broadway, along with a cinematic theatre. Construction lasted a year between 1926-1927 costing $13.5 million. At the time of its completion, it was the tallest building in Times Square, and once sported an observation deck.

CityPickle operates several other locations in New York:

  • Wollman Rink, Central Park, NYC
  • Long Island City, NY
  • Hudson Yards, NY
  • Brooklyn Bridge (Spring 2026)

“A space like this, with high ceilings and column free areas for playing space, is a truly rare find in Manhattan, let alone at the ‘Crossroads of the World,’” said Martin Cottingham, Principal at Avison Young, a commercial real estate company involved in the deal.

From Friday, August 22, through Sunday, August 24, the Central Park location will play host to the Major League Pickleball Finals.
