Can Zodiac Signs Predict Successful Pickleball Partnerships?
Some of the most successful pro teams have highly compatible zodiac signs. The next time you're looking for a pickleball partner, perhaps you should consult the stars?
Have you ever wondered if you picked the right partner for that upcoming pickleball tournament?
Was your selection based on their skills, temperament, competitiveness, or perhaps... their zodiac sign?
Western astrology has played a significant role in society as a pseudoscientific means to explain or predict phenomena, and zodiac signs have often been used as the basis for choosing the most suitable romantic partner.
So, Can Astrology Help You Find a Perfect Pickleball Partner?
One of the key components of partner compatibility is communication. And good communication is considered one of the most important qualities of a successful pickleball partnership.
Can astrology help pickleball players select the most compatible doubles partner?
I'm prepared to argue yes – or at the very least, lay out a case that renders it worth considering.
To help frame the narrative, let's consider: what are the zodiac signs of the players from the best professional pickleball teams, and are the partners highly compatible with regard to communication, as is written in the stars?

Zodiac Signs to Seek Out – and Avoid
To begin this exercise, a compatibility chart was consulted that rates pairs of people by zodiac sign on communication, quantified using a percentage match.
A list of the best and worst zodiac sign pairings based on communication compatibility is presented in Table 1.
Table 1. Best and Worst Communication Compatibility Scores for Zodiac Sign Pairings

Secondly, doubles medalists (gold, silver, bronze) to date from the 2025 Carvana Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour were compiled, along with the zodiac signs of each player.
Finally, the zodiac compatibility chart, mentioned above, was used to assign a percentage match for communication to each of the doubles partners.
Stellar Results: How PPA Partnerships Stack Up
The communication ratings, ranked highest to lowest, for the partnerships that medaled in the Women's, Mixed, and Men's Doubles tour are shown in Table 2, Table 3, and Table 4, respectively.
Here's what stands out:
In Women's Doubles
- Compatibility based on the zodiac signs of women's partners who medaled in 2025 is slightly associated with success: 12 of the 20 teams (60%) have communication compatibility scores of 50% or greater.
Table 2. Communication Compatibility of Partners Who Medaled in the 2025 Carvana PPA Tour (Women's Doubles)

In Mixed Doubles
- The results are more moderate: 12 of the 19 teams (63%) that medaled have communication compatibility scores of 65% or greater.
Table 3. Communication Compatibility of Partners Who Medaled in the 2025 Carvana PPA Tour (Mixed Doubles)

In Men's Doubles
- This is where it gets interesting: 18 of the 19 teams (95%) that medaled have communication compatibility scores of 50% or greater.

The Winning Elements of Astrology
With respect to zodiac elements, the most dominant pairings for all games and divisions were:
- Air/Water (13)
- Earth/Water (12)
The least dominant pairings were:
- Earth/Earth (3)
- Air/Air (2)
Lastly, of the 39 winning players on the PPA Tour, the most prevalent zodiac sign was Libra (7), followed by Cancer (5), Virgo (5), and Pisces (4), together making up over half of the players.
It's Written in the Stars
The results from this analysis help demonstrate that the best pickleball partnerships in the PPA Men's and Mixed Doubles tours have high compatibility with respect to communication, based on zodiac sign characteristics.
Coincidence? I will let you be the judge.
So, the next time you are interviewing for a pickleball partner, consider the candidate’s zodiac sign and how it jives with yours when it comes to communication. Maybe the constellations can help you and your partner become pickleball stars!
