The APP Mesa Open took place at the Arizona Athletic Grounds, in Mesa, Arizona this past weekend.
This was the last APP Tour event before the APP Tour Championships, set to take place at the home of the APP Tour, The Fort, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from December 9-14.
Top Storylines from the APP Mesa Open
Ronan Camron Earned his first Gold Medal
On his way to his first gold, Ronan Camron beat Naveen Beasley, Brandon Lane, and Andre Millet.
On the other side of the bracket, Will Howells upset the 3x gold medalist, Ammar Wazir in the semis, to make the finals.
In the finals, Camron was hitting super clean ground strokes and forced Howells into some errors, beating him 15-9, 15-13. This was Camron’s first ever gold medal on the APP Tour - he earned silver in singles twice.
Megan Fudge Earned Double Gold
Fudge continued her APP Tour dominance, winning both women’s doubles and mixed doubles gold.
In women’s doubles, she partnered with Jill Braverman, her longstanding partner for 2025. The duo won their sixth tournament in 2025 together in the desert. In the finals, they faced off against a new partnership in Sofia Sewing and Amanda Hendry, winning 11-3, 12-10.
In mixed doubles, it was a very familiar battle. Fudge and Jack Munro teamed up as the #1 seed, and faced off against #2 seed, Will Howells and Bobbi Oshiro in the finals. Munro and Fudge won 11-9, 11-7, for their fifth title together this year.

Erik Lange and Max “Purple Jesus” Manthou Earned their first Gold of 2025
It is crazy to think that Lange and Manthou do not have a gold medal on the APP Tour this year. That changed in Mesa.
First, the #1 seed Howells and Munro fell in their first round matchup to Max Green and James Broker, paving the way for unseeded Robert Slutsky and Zack Taylor.
Lange and Manthou beat Andre Millet and Patrick Kawka in the quarters and then squeaked by Drake Palm and Callan Dawson in the semis, 11-9, 12-10.
Facing off against Slutsky and Taylor in the finals, Lange and Manthou won 11-5, 11-2, with Manthou basically flying all over the court, per usual.
Sofia Sewing Continued Her Dominance
Sewing has the second most medals on tour in 2025, just shy of Megan Fudge. She beat Katerina Stewart for gold, 15-7, 15-12. This was Sewing’s eighth title of the year and fourth in a row. She is the standard in women’s singles on the APP Tour.
In doubles, Sewing and Hendry beat Jardim and Maddox, 7&7 in the semis, before falling short in the finals. I liked the pairing of Sewing and Hendry and hope to see more of them in the future.
