10 Things We Learned From Anna Bright & Kate Fahey's Hilarious New Podcast
From broken paddles and bathroom haircuts to hot dogs and questionable bench presses, the debut episode of Let Her Cook delivered plenty of laughs.
Anna Bright and Kate Fahey have officially entered the podcast game. And if the first episode of Let Her Cook is any indication, we're in for a treat.
The two pickleball stars spent an hour swapping tour stories, roasting each other, and revealing what really happens behind the scenes.
Here are 10 things we learned.
1. Anna Bright sees stars. Literally.
During a recent final, Bright was so exhausted and anxious that she started seeing spots midmatch. Kate's response? Welcome to the club.
2. Anna almost played with Kate's paddle.
A paddle-testing mix-up in Vegas nearly forced Bright to borrow her opponent's paddle. Imagine losing to someone using your own equipment.
3. Kate's toenails are fighting for their lives.
One fell off. The replacement was damaged. Antibiotics were involved. Professional pickleball is glamorous.
4. Portillo's is apparently fine dining.
The ladies are obsessed with hot dogs, chocolate cake and cake shakes. Bright even contemplated dressing up for a birthday dinner at Portillo's.
5. Kate has her own academy. Apparently.
An internet commenter referenced the "Kate Fahey Strong Fierce Woman Academy." Neither host knows exactly what that means, but they're already discussing T-shirts.
6. Anna's mom is her unofficial social media manager.
She recruits Instagram followers at tournaments and on airplanes. She's good for five to 10 new followers a day. Respect the hustle.
7. Bruno McDonald's bench press is absurd.
His reported one-rep max? 330 pounds. His current workout? Three sets of eight at 280. The hosts were appropriately impressed.
8. Juan Benitez got a haircut in a Life Time bathroom.
Not a joke. Bright's coach apparently turned a family bathroom into a makeshift barbershop before hitting center court.
9. Anna intentionally broke a paddle. Then kept using it.
After smashing a backup paddle during practice, Bright discovered she actually liked how it played. She used it for three days before finally retiring it.
10. Team USA might single-handedly fix the economy.
According to the hosts, winning the MLP Cup could lower gas prices, milk prices and egg prices. Somebody call the Federal Reserve.
The verdict: Great chemistry, plenty of unfiltered tour gossip, and absolutely no shortage of material. Yes please. Let these two cook.
